VentureOut is proud to have had the opportunity to organize this first CzechMatch program on behalf of our partner CzechInvest. We run multiple programs a year on behalf of CzechInvest, accelerating Czech startups at different maturity stages, but all willing to expand to the US market.
A One-week MATCHMAKING Program:
CzechMatch is all about meetings with potential investors and business partners: finding the right people to meet with, but also helping the start-ups prepare for presentations and meetings.
The program actually starts with a long preparation phase during which the VentureOut team gets to discuss with all the companies and assess their needs, as well as understand the types of meetings each company is looking for.
Then comes the dense week in NYC: the program is a mix of group activities, one-to-one mentoring sessions, business meetings, and pitching opportunities.
Pictured below: some of the highlights of the program.
Workshops & Mentoring
Education and Mentoring are the backbones of any VentureOut program. By partnering with thought leaders in key areas, we give our startups an unfair advantage by arming them with best practices used to scale the most successful companies in Silicon Valley.
Office Visits & BUSINESS MEETINGS
We provided our startups with an opportunity to sit down in a fireside chat setting with some of the top investors and entrepreneurs in the tech space in NYC.
Notable Guests
Our startups were also fortunate enough to meet and pitch their business to Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Deputy Prime Minister (and Minister of Industry and Trade) Karel Havlíček, who took time out while attending a UN event in NYC.
The Pitch Night
The pitch night is the capstone of the program. We started with networking, cocktails, and hors-d’oeuvres. Following a round of introductions, each startup pitched for 3 minutes and received feedback from each investor on the panel. The night was capped off with more networking and refreshments.
