From April 30th through May 9th of 2019, the VENTUREOUT team worked with CzechInvest and the Consulate General of Czech Republic in New York to power our Czech Match & Demo Startup Week!
Czech Demo is a program designed around main tech events for start-up companies that want to expand their business activities out of the Czech Republic or to increase their chance of finding business partners or investors. Czech Match is all about meetings with potential investors and business partners: finding the right people to meet with, but also helping the start-ups prepare for presentations and meetings. This program was a combination of both, and as such, it gave participating startups the opportunity to venture around NYC to connect to top influencers and investors as well as attend Tech Day, the biggest tech event in the US.
VentureOut is proud to have had the opportunity to organize the Czech Match and Demo programs on behalf of our partners CzechInvest and the Consulate General of Czech Republic in New York. We run multiple programs a year on behalf of CzechInvest, accelerating Czech startups at different maturity stages, but all willing to expand to the US market.
A TWO-Week Hyper Accelerator Program:
Our dense two-week program was able to provide the startups with not only core business knowledge, such as how to communicate your brand and product as well as fundamentals in fundraising but also with introductions to key players in the tech ecosystem in NYC – whether they are successful entrepreneurs or investors.
Pictured below: some of the highlights of the program.
Workshops & mentoring
investor office visits & Company insights
The participants of the Czech Demo track of the Program participated in TechDay NY – which is the largest startup event in the U.S. The 7 Czech Demo Startups all had a booth at TechDay NY and met with leading accelerator programs, seasoned investors, and tons of larger tech brands.
The Pitch Night
The pitch night is always by far the highlight of our programs. It is a night filled with great presentations from startups, networking, and refreshments. The startups have 2 minutes to pitch their company which then follows insights from an all-star panel of investors.
Our investor panel featured:
- Paul Quigley from HOF Capital
- Craig Frischling from NY Angels
- Han Jing from Differential VC
- Stephen Silver from Arc Angels
