VentureOut is proud to host our 20th German tech program and our 18th in partnership with the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York (GACCNY).

STEP stands for the Startup Entrepreneurship Program, featuring Germany's hottest tech startups in New York City. These startups represent the awesomeness of the German tech ecosystem. In this program, these startups will learn how to launch and raise capital in the U.S. and get connected with some of the top tech influencers and investors in NYC.

What better way to kick off our program than with a happy hour reception? Rise and shine! Our STEPNYC program always kicks off with breakfast hosted by the President & CEO of the German American Chamber of Commerce New York, Dietmar Rieg, including orientation and a review of the program agenda. Get excited!

How To Raise Capital from Seed to Series B

Paul Bianco will use his experience in raising capital to speak with the startups on the importance of raising capital, as well as how to utilize raised capital.

Susanne Gellert and Christopher Gallagher will be speaking about the business culture in the U.S., how it differs from Germany, and other insights and strategies to help their transition into the U.S. market.

Meet with some of NYC’s leading tech mentors, serial entrepreneurs, investors and operators that advise some of the top tech companies in the US. This session will focus on reviewing your pitch deck to make sure you are prepared for our investor pitch night.

Working exclusively with innovative technology companies, Lisa and Scott runs an interactive messaging workshop that helps companies understand how to craft and deliver messaging that emotionally engages their audience. We're excited to be attending in NYC Tech Meetup, the largest meetup in the world. The meetup is run by NYC Tech Alliance, the organization with over 60,000 individual and institutional members, reflecting the full spectrum of the greater New York area tech community and making it the largest tech organization in the region. Through this meetup, get a chance to deeply understand about New York technology community and ecosystem.

Our German startups have an opportunity to meet the leaders of German Accelerator New York, a program that empowers high-potential German tech startups to successfully enter the U.S. market. They provide extensive hands-on mentoring, free office space, and immediate access to a top-notch network and vibrant community. The program is government-backed, but privately-run. And no fees or equity.

STEP NYC Investor Pitch Night

Pitch Night

Session 2
This is the big night (and it’s open bar)! Our pitch event begins at 5pm with private investor speed dating, allowing each startup 5 minutes one on one with each member of the investor panel. At 6pm, our audience begins to arrive and at 6:30 we kick off the event and each company will pitch for 2 minutes, get feedback from the panel until everyone is done and we go back to drinking and networking. Make sure to bring your A-game!

Final Presentations

Session 1
This is the final workshop of the program. We ask every company to crystallize the takeaways from the program that they will be applying to their business going forward…what did you learn and what are you going to do with it? Then, everyone else in the program provides that founder constructive feedback on their performance throughout the week and how they can improve going forward. This is often rated the most valuable session in our program.

Exit Interviews

Session 2
We conclude the program with exit interviews, getting candid feedback from each company on their experience in the program and to discuss next steps and how VENTUREOUT and GACCNY  can continue to support the company beyond the program.
